Pizza delivery driver killed in Tweed Heads crash

A Domino's Pizza delivery driver has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash at Tweed Heads.

Police say an 18-year-old moped rider crashed with a Holden Colorado on Ducat Street about 6pm yesterday.

The rider was thrown to the road and struck by a Toyota Prado. He died at the scene.

The company this morning confirmed in a statement the teenager was an employee delivering pizza at the time.

"Domino's Pizza Enterprises Limited (Domino's) has confirmed, with great sadness, the death of one of our team members in a motor vehicle accident," a Domino's spokesperson said.

"We will be providing support to our team members and loved ones, including providing counselling.

"Domino's will also provide the local police with all possible assistance with their investigation.

"We would like to express our sincere condolences to our team member's family and friends and ask that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."

The 42-year-old male driver of the Holden and the 46-year-old female driver of the Toyota were uninjured.

They were taken to Tweed Heads Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Police are investigating and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
