Man charged after teen girl allegedly detained and assaulted in Sydney's west

A second person has been charged over the alleged assault and detainment of a teenage girl in Sydney's west earlier this year.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Ryde yesterday at 11.30pm, police say.

During a subsequent search, officers allegedly located and seized methylamphetamine, which was in the man's possession.

The arrest came after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly detained for several hours, assaulted and supplied drugs by a man and woman in July.

The man is the second person to be charged under Strike Force Tumbridge, which was established by detectives to investigate the allegations.

A 24-year-old woman was charged for her alleged role in the incident earlier this month.

The man was taken to Ryde Police Station where he was charged with taking/detaining in company with intent to get advantage occasioning actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stealing, and three counts of supplying a prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Hornsby Local Court today.
