Two killed, one injured in fiery NSW crash

Two bodies have been discovered inside a car that went up in flames after a crash in northern NSW.

Police say two cars collided on the Pacific Highway just south of Ballina about 6.20am on Saturday.

Emergency personnel found one car engulfed in fire and a 33-year-old man on the road.

Police found two bodies inside the car once the blaze was extinguished.

The badly hurt 33-year-old was airlifted to Gold Coast Hospital in a serious condition.

The Pacific Highway is closed in both directions as forensic specialists examine the crash scene.

The fiery crash comes after a teenager died in a head-on accident at Wellington, west of the Blue Mountains in NSW.

The 19-year-old's car collided with a truck on the Mitchell Highway near Maryvale about 10.15pm on Friday.

The truck driver, 49, was airlifted to hospital with head and leg injuries.
