NSW man charged over dead housemate

A man has been charged with the manslaughter of a housemate who was found dead on the driveway of their property in southern NSW.

The men, who lived together at Holbrook but weren't related, allegedly had a fist fight after a verbal argument, Detective Inspector Bradley Blanchard from Albury police told AAP.

A 35-year-old man suffered head wounds and was found dead by police on the driveway of their home on Tuesday night.

"It's as the result of an argument and then an altercation took place and as a result of the injuries sustained during the altercation the 35-year-old man was found deceased," Insp Bradley said.

Neither man was armed nor know to police.

"It was a physical altercation," Insp Bradley said.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene on Tuesday night and charged with manslaughter.

Bail has been refused and he's due before Albury Local Court on Wednesday.
