NSW forward Trent Merrin on report after horror tackle

Blues forward Trent Merrin has been placed on report after a dangerous tackle on Maroons forward Corey Parker.

The tackle saw Maroons players come from afar to remonstrate with the Dragons front rower.

In a week dominated by the fallout of Alex McKinnon’s tell-all interview with 60 Minutes, the tackle was the last thing the contest and game needed.

During the wide-ranging episode, former Knights player McKinnon - who broke his neck in a tackle against the Storm last year - expressed his disgust at the reaction of Maroons’ skipper Cameron Smith in the minutes after the horrific incident.
