Floodwaters in NSW starting to recede
Flood waters in NSW are finally expected to start easing this week. (9NEWS)
Flood-stricken central western NSW is breathing a little easier as weather conditions ease.
The Lachlan River is gradually falling after peaking at Condobolin on Tuesday but is expected to remain at a moderate flood level in Forbes until the end of the week.
Most residents evacuated from the area have returned home after a partial all-clear order was given on Tuesday night.
The Bureau of Meteorology says no more rain is expected for the rest of the week, with only minor falls forecast for mid-next week.
The news comes after a body was found by authorities in floodwaters near Forbes yesterday, believed to be 49-year-old Robert Linnane, 49, who was reported missing on Saturday.
A wide-scale search involving more than 100 volunteers has been underway since then in an attempt to find him.
The body has yet to be formally identified, but police believe it to be Mr Linnane.
