Man dies in NSW fiery fuel tanker crash

A man has died after the fuel tanker he was driving hit a tree and was engulfed by flames in central NSW.

Sunday's accident occurred on the Golden Highway near Dunedoo around 3.30pm.

The highway remains closed in both directions at Dunedoo.

Earlier a person died and another was injured after the car they were in crashed into a parked truck at Helensburgh between Sydney and Wollongong.

Police say the crash happened at about 2am and a man who sustained multiple injuries was flown to St George Hospital.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
