A NSW children's cancer charity has been stripped of its status, the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission says.

Kids Cancer Relief NSW Inc will have 60 days, from the date of revocation, to challenge the ACNC's decision.

Victoria-based Ethan Affordable Housing Limited has also lost its charity status, something the commission says is reserved for serious mismanagement or deliberate breaches of its act.

"We make no apology about taking a tough stance when necessary," Commissioner Susan Pascoe said on Tuesday.

Both organisations were contacted for comment.
