Pair saved from 'crocodile country' waters in Northern Territory
Two people spent nine hours trapped on the top of their car in crocodile infested waters after driving into flood waters in the Northern Territory.
Several emergency service responders spent most of Saturday night attempting to rescue the Darwin residents after they attempted to cross the Dingo Station river crossing at Marrakai around 9pm.
The duo's Landcruiser was inundated as soon as it drove into the flood waters, rapidly reaching the vehicle's windows and electric systems - causing them to fail.

The pair climbed onto the roof of the vehicle awaiting assistance in waters that a Northern Territory Police spokesperson said was "definitely right in crocodile country".
Police and emergency service volunteers were able to launch a small vessel to rescue the stranded couple around 6.00am yesterday.
Authorities have used the marathon effort as a "timely reminder" for travellers and motorists alike to avoid driving through flooded waterways and creeks, asking for boats to stick to water and cars to stick to roads.
