Northern gas pipeline wins approval
AAP
The federal government has given environmental approval to an $800 million pipeline to move gas from the Northern Territory to Queensland.
However, the future of the Northern Gas Pipeline, which runs from Tennant Creek to Mt Isa, is still in doubt after traditional owners lodged an emergency objection to it in February over fears it could lead to fracking.
The NT government still needs to give approval for the project to go ahead.
