North Qld man breaks into police station

If only catching all criminals was this easy.

Police on patrol in Atherton in far north Queensland returned to their station on Monday night to find a man had smashed a glass door and broken in.

The 23-year-old was promptly arrested and taken to hospital for assessment.

The station was unoccupied and no property was stolen.

Police have not specified a motive for the unusual break-in.
