Police hunt bungling Adelaide arsonist who set himself alight

An arsonist has set himself alight when he torched a car parked in a driveway at Noarlunga Downs in Adelaide's south early this morning.
CCTV capturing the moment the man approached the SUV at a home on Bedlington Court at 3.30 am and set it on fire.
His jumper then also caught alight, which he desperately attempted to extinguish.
Neighbours can be seen running from their homes and giving chase, but the offender managed to escape. Residents woke as authorities rushed to the scene.
"I just heard sirens and lights through my bedroom window," neighbour, Lenore Sutherland, said.
The car's owner, who did not want to be identified, was left devastated by the attack that destroyed the vehicle.

"I want to know who's done it and why they've done it," she said, adding the car was brand new.
Crime Gang Taskforce detectives examined the scene today as part of the police investigation.
Neighbours said it's not the first time the house has been targeted, with another car torched just a month ago.
The Mitsubishi destroyed in this latest attack was its replacement.
"I feel sorry for the lady and wanted to know why they are attacking her house," Ms Sutherland said.
Police believe the offender may be injured.
They want anyone with information about the attack to call Crime Stoppers anonymously.
