No plan to ease foreign invest rules: govt

Scott Morrison has dismissed a media report suggesting the Turnbull government is about to ease the nation's foreign investment rules.
The treasurer was responding to article in The Australian newspaper, which said Treasury was considering a proposal to allow foreign state-owned businesses to escape the scrutiny of the Foreign Investment Review Board for deals worth up to $100 million.
"Contrary to today's media report the govt has no plan to ease foreign investment rules," Mr Morrison tweeted on Thursday.
