No more bandaid tax solutions: Hockey

Treasurer Joe Hockey has promised that his review of the tax system will not result in just more "band-aid solutions".

Mr Hockey was laying out what his government wants to achieve from his tax review white paper at a tax forum in Melbourne, saying it would not be a Henry tax review mark II or turn the tax system on its head with a brand new tax.

"This is not about short-term fixes and yet more bandaid solutions for our system ... we need to achieve meaningful reform that prepares us for the future," he told PwC tax reform forum on Wednesday.
