No charges after fatal Vic smash

Three people have been released without being charged after a two-car crash killed two people in central Victoria.

After police heard reports on Saturday of three cars driving erratically on the Calder Highway south of Wedderburn, emergency services were called to a crash at Glenalbyn, near Bendigo, about 12.40pm (AEDT).

Two of the vehicles, a station wagon and a sedan, had collided and run off the road.

The station wagon struck a tree, killing two men inside the vehicle.

A 67-year-old man and 35-year-old woman of Violet Town and a 51-year-old man of Wedderburn were interviewed and released without charge on Sunday.

Police are appealing for other witnesses to come forward and wish to speak to the driver of a black utility seen travelling on the stretch of highway at the time.

The occupants of all three vehicles are known to each other, police say.
