No advanced merger plans: MUA

The future of the Maritime Union of Australia is under consideration, but there are no advanced plans for a merger with the CFMEU.
MUA National Secretary Paddy Crumlin says reports of a merger with the CFMEU within weeks are wrong, although there are "general" talks about the MUA's future and no decision has been reached.
"That would be with a number of unions, but it is not anything more specific than that," Mr Crumlin told AAP.
