Nightly Last Post for WA's ANZACs

Perth's ANZAC Day commemoration will feature nightly wreath laying ceremonies by relatives of fallen Australian servicemen and women.

From Easter Sunday, April 20 until Thursday April 24, the Returned and Services League of WA will host the ceremonies at 5pm each day.

Relatives will lay up to five wreaths at the Pool of Reflection at King's Park, where the Flame of Remembrance burns continuously.

A Last Post ceremony will mark the observances, with a piper playing a lament and a bugler playing The Last Post.

Each evening there will be a special reading in honour of a West Australian serviceman or woman who has served in conflicts during the past 100 years.

"Our ANZAC Day dawn service at Kings Park currently attracts 40,000 to 50,000 people - the biggest ANZAC service in the world - and we hope that the extension of these services will offer another opportunity for people to participate," said RSL WA president Graham Edwards.
