Federal Liberal backbencher Nicolle Flint says she's prepared to sit down with Labor's Penny Wong and Tanya Plibersek after she accused the opposition of politicising the issue of women's safety.

Delivering an emotional speech in parliament, the member for the South Australian seat of Boothby claimed the pair failed to support her after she was subjected to harassment and stalking in the lead-up to the 2019 election.

Liberal MP Nicolle Flint recently announced she would leave politics at the next election.

"We have heard the most distressing stories from women, that can't ever happen again in this place and we must all work together," she said.
