Cyclist killed in Sydney hit and run as police urge driver to come forward
Police have launched a fresh appeal to find the driver of a car which they believe was involved in a fatal hit and run in Sydney’s west yesterday.
Speaking today police renewed their appeal for the driver to come forward and said it remained unclear why she failed to stop following the accident in Lidcombe.
Police and ambulance crews yesterday rushed to Harry Avenue and Maud Street about 4.45pm after a male cyclist had been hit.

The cyclist was knocked to the ground in the high impact collision and was dragged 50 metres down the road.
Inspector Katie Orr from the Crash Investigation Unit said police weren't sure why the driver didn't stop to help.
"That's why we are urging that driver to come forward," she said.

CCTV vision shows the cyclist, a 68-year-old man from Cammeray, riding down a footpath before crossing over to Maude Street.
Just seconds later he is struck by a light-coloured sedan.

Witnesses rushed to help the man and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
However, the cyclist died at the scene.

The car is described as being a white or grey sedan and was being driven by a woman of Asian appearance believed to in her 30s.
