Vicious dog attack leaves 72-year-old man fighting for life
An elderly man has been airlifted to hospital after he was viciously attacked by a dog at a house he was visiting north of Adelaide.
The 72-year-old victim was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital critically injured, having been mauled on his face and neck.
He is now in a serious but stable condition.

He had been visiting friends at a home in Princess Street at Willaston, north of Adelaide, when he apparently fell and was attacked by a bull mastiff cross.
He underwent emergency surgery for injuries to his face and neck.

The incident prompted a police investigation, before Gawler Council stepped in.
The council ordered the animal be destroyed, after revealing it had been involved in a previous attack.
That was due to happen today, but it is unclear if it has.
