Five attacked in horror weekend for violence in Perth

A weekend of violence has seen five victims attacked within one kilometre of each other in the Perth suburb of Northbridge.

Two of the victims were co-stars of actor Hugh Sheridan, in town for the Perth season of Hair, the musical.

Sheridan's younger brother Zachary was allegedly glassed on the corner of Murray and Barrack Street.

Two more people were attacked with broken glass last night.

Assaults in the suburb are approaching a 10-year-high, up 28 per cent on last financial year.

There have been 149 more attacks than last year, with figures returning to levels not seen since 2010.

Local business owners say they have noticed an increase in violence, despite a strong police presence.

Three males are in custody over the alleged attacks, the youngest of them just 14 years old.
