Leane Flynn was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2017. She's now an Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) ambassador and continues to fight the disease.

Known by its other name, the silent killer, ovarian cancer sneaks up on women, with the insidious disease often never showing any symptoms.

The disease claims the life of a woman every eight hours in Australia, and is responsible for 1600 new diagnoses a year.

Before her diagnosis, Ms Flynn had little knowledge of the cancer, or how quickly it can spread. Seventy per cent of those affected will already be in the late stages of the disease.

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day - and for the past 11-years – retail giant Witchery has been running a fundraising campaign to coincide with it.

This morning, Ms Flynn joined Julie Bishop and around a hundred other women to raise awareness through the campaign.

Witchery’s ‘White Shirt’ campaign has raised $12 million, which all goes towards research with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
