Home invasion and multiple stabbings in Melbourne
A man has been stabbed after a home invasion in Melbourne’s south-east.
Police believe a woman broke into the Warrigal Road property in Hughesdale through the bathroom window just before 6am.
A struggle ensued when the 48-year-old resident woke up and discovered the intruder.

During the struggle the man suffered a laceration under his arm before the offender fled the scene on foot.
Police are searching the area.
In a separate incident, police responded to reports of a stabbing in Melbourne’s north.
Officers say a man and a woman were involved in an argument on Greenvale Drive in Greenvale about 11.20pm, before a passer-by intervened and a scuffle broke out.
The victim received a cut to his stomach and was taken to a local doctor for treatment.
A man in his 40s was detained by members of the public nearby.
