Workers freed from collapsed trench at Melbourne work site
Two men have been successfully saved after a three-hour rescue operation at a collapsed trench at a Melbourne work site.
Emergency services were called to the four-metre deep trench on High Street, Epping, when it caved in at about 11.50am.
The workers were stuck in the dirt three metres below ground for several hours.

Firefighters and paramedics plucked the first man, aged in his 20s, to safety about 2.50pm, while the remaining man, aged in his 50s, was saved just after 3.30pm.
Both men have been taken to The Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
The younger of the workers has suffered a leg injury, while the older man has sustained suspected crush injuries, Ambulance Victoria said.
It remains unclear what caused the trench to collapse.
Police and Worksafe remain on-scene.
