The Queensland premier says he'll be seeking to retain his Brisbane-based seat of Ashgrove at the next state election.
The Liberal National Party has opened nominations for 12 seats, including Ashgrove.
Campbell Newman says he's been a very effective local member, and he'll be seeking re-endorsement to run again in the seat.

"I'm happy to say I'll be putting my hand up," he told Fairfax radio on Friday.
"I'll be talking to people in the community in the coming few months about what they'd like me to do as a local member if they elect me in 2015."
