A man has grabbed a 17-year-old girl on a Newcastle street and tried to pull her into his car.
The teen was walking home along Glebe Road in Adamstown on Sunday night when a dark grey Holden Commodore approached her, according to NSW police.
She told officers the man spoke to her briefly before trying to haul her inside the sedan.
"The teenage girl managed to get away and ran to a nearby home," a NSW spokesperson said on Thursday.
Police have released an image of the man that fits the young girl's description.
He is described as Caucasian, 183cm tall with a thin build. He was wearing a light-blue hooded jumper at the time of the attempted abduction.
