New website publicly shames bad drivers

Motorists whose dangerous driving puts the lives of others at risk are now being named and shamed on a new website for the world to see.

Users upload videos of reckless driving to the Road Shamer website, and at the same time register the offending vehicle’s number plate to a searchable database.

Incidents uploaded on the website include a four-wheel-drive crashing into a bus, a motorist eating a bowl of cereal while driving, a Commodore driving along a grass median strip and a hooning car losing control.

The website intends to hold dangerous drivers accountable for their actions, says Road Shamer's Australian webmaster Nadav Golombick.

"If the user clicks on a number plate, it appears under the video and what will appear are all offences relating to that specific car," Mr Golombick told A Current Affair.

Road safety expert Ian Luff is pleased that a website like this now exists.

"Dangerous drivers have to realise that their bad behaviour is being recorded. Many vehicles today are fitted with dash-cams," Mr Luff said.

"It's only a matter of time before you get caught."
