'Never lamb alone': Annual Aussie lamb ad celebrates multiculturalism

This year's annual lamb advertising campaign has been released, with the spot celebrating Australia's multicultural population.

The ad is filled with back-to-back blink-and-you'll-miss-it gags and celebrity appearances, and aims to send one clear message: "you never lamb alone".

Set on a beach on Australia’s eastern coast, three Indigenous Australians are seen setting up to cook some lamb for a classic barbecue.

Before long a boat of Dutch people arrives, quickly joined on shore by a crew of British explorers.

"We are the First Fleet," they announce.

"Yeah, not quite mate," one of the hosts replies to laughs, adding Indigenous Australians have been here "forever".

Soon the French, Germans, Greeks, Italians and Serbians (represented by Sam Kekovich, Australia’s so-called "Lambassador") arrive, each bringing with them food from their own cultures.

Others are keen for a hit of cricket. 

"Do you know where the backyard is?" a party-goer enquires.

"We got about 4000km of it out here," cricket legend Adam Gilchrist responds, offering up an esky lid as a makeshift wicket.

Some Chinese settlers arrive with fireworks in hand - from the ACT suburb of Fyshwick, of course.
