NDIS worker database to reduce harm risk
AAP
A national database for workers in the national disability insurance scheme will be established under draft laws introduced to federal parliament.
The database will include information about workers who have had clearance decisions made about them, including whether they have applied for a worker screening check, the status of the check and whether or not they were issued a security clearance.
"Nationally consistent NDIS worker screening will help create a safe and trusted workforce in the NDIS and minimise the risk of harm to people with a disability," Social Services Minister Paul Fletcher told the lower house as he introduced the bill on Wednesday.
