Liberal senator Lucy Gichuhi says she has been approached by the Nationals to join the party, but rejected the courtship.
The South Australian senator, who formerly was a member of Family First and an independent, said in a statement on Thursday she had made an "evidence-based" decision to join the Liberals in February and would be sticking with it.
"Whilst I hold our coalition partner in the highest regard and have appreciated its members' help and kindness, I took time to choose the party I am most closely aligned with," she said.
