P-platers caught street racing at 150km/h

A P-plater driver has been charged after being caught street racing at speeds of 150 km/h with a baby on board at Eastern Creek.

Highway Patrol officers spotted the cars, a Ford Laser sedan and a Suzuki Swift sedan, racing along the Great Western Highway about 5:15pm yesterday, the Daily Telegraph reports.

The two were clocked at 150 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Both drivers were 19-years-old and when police pulled them over an officer spotted a one-year-old baby boy in the back seat of one of the vehicles.

They were both charged with driving at a dangerous speed, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h and street racing.

They are due to in Blacktown Local Court in April.
