Murdered mother had drug debts

Murdered mum Karlie Pearce-Stevenson had a $25,000 drug debt at the time of her death, police have confirmed.

Ms Pearce-Stevenson, who was killed and dumped in NSW's Belanglo State Forest in 2008, allegedly fled Alice Springs with money meant to buy drugs, The Advertiser has reported.

The paper says NSW homicide detectives confirmed they had received the information through Crime Stoppers a fortnight ago.

The caller claims Ms Pearce-Stevenson had been doing drug runs between Adelaide and Darwin before her murder.

She took her baby daughter, Khandalyce, with her when she left Alice Springs.

The two-year-old was killed shortly after her mother's murder, and her remains were found dumped in a suitcase on the side of a highway in South Australia in July this year.

No one has been charged over the child's murder but Daniel Holdom will again appear in a Sydney court on Thursday charged over the murder of Ms Pearce-Stevenson.
