Mum caught drink-driving with kids: police

A mother has been charged with drink-driving and smoking while her three young children were in the car.

The 36-year-old was stopped by a highway patrol in Strathfield in Sydney's west just after midnight (AEDT) on Sunday.

Police say a roadside breath test returned a positive result.

The woman is also alleged to have been smoking while her three young children were in the car.

The woman was charged with mid-range drink-driving and smoking in a motor vehicle with persons under 16 present.

Her licence was suspended and she will appear before Burwood Local Court in February.
