MP urges students not to be overwhelmed

Federal Nationals MP Andrew Broad had no idea what he wanted to do after high school and now has a message for students undertaking their final exams: "Do your best and enjoy your life".

The western Victorian MP urged students on Wednesday not be overwhelmed by the pressure of final exams, admitting he was unsure of his own prospects at the end of school.

"I certainly didn't think I'd finish up having a say in how the country was run," Mr Broad, a former farmer, told reporters in Canberra.

He wants to reassure students their entire life does not hinge on their exam results.

"As long as you've got a sense of self-esteem and sense of self-worth, you can do anything with your life," he said.
