Mountain biker dies on trail in Brisbane
A mountain bike rider has died in hospital after being found unconscious at the bottom of a steep slope in Brisbane.
The death takes Australia's national Easter road toll to 12.
Other riders found the 53-year-old man about 8am (AEST) on Monday in the Daisy Hill State Forest. It's believed he lost control of his bike towards the bottom of a very steep trail.
The man was taken to the Princess Alexandra hospital with serious injuries and died a few hours later. Police are hoping anyone with information about the accident will come forward.
The death is being included in Queensland's Easter road toll because it occurred on a recognised bike riding trail.
Of the 12 deaths across Australia over the Easter break, four were in Queensland.
(EDS: The Easter road toll figures are for the period 0001 April 17 to 2359 April 21)
