Motorbike rider crashes out trying to do a wheelie

A US motorbike rider has crashed out while showing off and trying to do a wheelie on a busy highway.

Dashcam footage, filmed in St Louis, Missouri and uploaded to YouTube over the weekend, shows the fellow hooning down the highway with a group of riders.

The group starts performing tricks, with one of the riders standing on his seat.

The rider with the dashcam then attempts to do a wheelie, raising his front wheel off the road at the same time as trying to stand on his seat.

But he quickly loses his balance and the bike flips out from underneath him. Both rider and bike are sent sprawling along the highway, as seen in dashcam filmed by a second rider.

The rider appears to have escaped without any major injuries however, with footage showing the group watching a replay of the nasty spill on a laptop and laughing about it.
