It's official. Six-packs are out and the dad bod is in, this summer.

It all started when swimwear company Budgy Smuggler launched the search for Australia's Most Ordinary Rig.

The criteria was simple; someone without a six-pack, but was proud of their body and had a good sense of humour.

Facing some stiff competition from men all over the country, Dan 'Dingo' Leydon from Mt Isa, Queensland, took out the award.

On the Today Show this morning, the winner of the competition was unveiled in spectacular style.

Mr Leydon, a plumber by trade, said the "competition was made for him".

Though he admitted it's hard work keeping in dad bod shape, eating "two to three cakes a day" while spending about "five to six hours on the couch".

His wife said she is very proud of her husband and his body.

A massive billboard will now be erected in his hometown to honour his achievement.
