Most Australians think tax system unfair

Just over half of Australians - but especially those earning an average wage - believe the tax system is not fair.

The latest Essential Research poll on Tuesday found the tax issue that most bothered 60 per cent of respondents was the feeling some corporations don't pay their fair share, while just over half also felt wealthy people don't pay what they should.

However, the survey of 1027 respondents found only 22 per cent were most concerned about the amount of tax they pay.
