More support for forced marriage victims
AAP
Victims of forced marriage who are unable or unwilling to assist with criminal investigations and prosecutions have been granted far greater access to support.
Human trafficking victims have to date been given 45 days of intensive support without needing to contribute to criminal proceedings, plus another 45 days if they are willing but not able.
Social Services Minister Dan Tehan said forced marriage victims would now be offered up to 200 days support, given they are often aged under 18 and have unique and complex needs.
