More change at NFF as CEO quits

The National Farmers' Federation's top executive has resigned to take up a senior position at a rural not-for-profit organisation.

Matt Linnegar will resign as chief executive officer of Australia's peak farming lobby in July after three years at the helm.

Mr Linnegar has been credited with designing the federation's blueprint for Australian agriculture, and steering the group through a "tumultuous environment" and several tough federal budgets.

"Matt has built a very capable NFF team and will leave the organisation in a strong and stable position," NFF president Brent Finlay said in a statement.

Mr Linnegar will take up a new role as chief executive of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.

The latest leadership change at the NFF comes after the presidency of the federation switched three times in 2013.
