A three-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a home in Moorebank about 6.30pm after receiving reports a child had been found unresponsive in a backyard pool.

An earlier NSW Police release incorrectly reported the child had died.
