Molly Meldrum dislocates shoulder and cracks four ribs

Australian music icon Molly Meldrum will remain in a Bangkok hospital for several days after he dislocated a shoulder and cracked four ribs in a nasty fall.

Meldrum, 72, tripped on Sunday night while getting out of a taxi during a holiday in Thailand.

The Seven Network gave an update of Meldrum’s condition and said doctors were still treating him for the injuries.

Meldrum had previously told The Advertiser the doctors were "trying to put everything back together".

"I’m not sure what it was, but I slipped on something on the ground and fell on the footpath, but I’m okay," he said.

"I'm a walking disaster."

In late 2011, Meldrum was seriously injured after falling from a ladder at his Melbourne home.

He had surgery for head, chest and spinal injuries and underwent a lengthy rehabilitation program.
