Missing woman met foul play: police
A woman who vanished after she was last spotted at a western Sydney bus stop 15 months ago probably met with foul play, police say.
Cheryl Ardler was with a man known to her when she was last seen in Cranebrook, west of Sydney, in early December 2012.
There were reported sightings of the then 41-year-old on the NSW north coast and the Gold Coast but police investigations confirmed it was not Ms Ardler.
Detective Acting Inspector Cheryl Crook, of Penrith police, said Ms Ardler also had family in Brewarrina in northern NSW.
"We believe that she has met with foul play," she told AAP.
Ms Ardler's bank accounts have not been accessed and her family say her disappearance is out of character.
Strike Force Bardsley has been established to investigate her disappearance.
Ms Ardler is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, about 159cm tall with a slim build.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
