Jet skier found safe after spending night on Georges River

A jet skier who was reported missing yesterday evening has been found safe and well this morning after spending the night caught in mangroves on Sydney's Georges River.

The 27-year-old man was last seen at 5pm yesterday jet skiing at Dolls Point.

He was reported missing at 7pm, after he failed to return to Hawkesbury Reserve Boat Ramp as planned.

The man was located Towra Point Nature Reserve, just after 6am this morning.  Google Maps

Officers, along with water police and PolAir, conducted a search of the area throughout the night but no trace of the man was found.

However, just after 6am this morning members of the public reported hearing a person calling for help near Towra Point Nature Reserve at Kurnell.

Officers found the man a short time later in the mangroves and returned him to safety.

He suffered minor cuts and exposure.

He was returned to the base at Sans Souci and assessed by paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition.
