The Turnbull government will send Assistant Industry Minister Karen Andrews to talks aimed at addressing the global oversupply of steel.
She will attend the OECD meeting in Brussels on Monday in place of Industry Minister Christopher Pyne, who says he is required to remain in Canberra for next week's parliamentary sittings.
"This is really a conference of officials. We are leading the way by sending a minister," Mr Pyne told reporters in Adelaide on Wednesday.
