Michelle Bridges applies for AVO against photographer

Celebrity fitness instructor Michelle Bridges has filed for an apprehended violence order against a paparazzo accused of following her through a Woolworths supermarket.

Footage of the incident that sparked the legal action shows Bridges demanding photographer Liam Mendes stop filming her before she appears to reach out to block the camera.

"You're breaking the law by taking photographs of people in a shop," Bridges can be heard saying to Mendes in the footage from inside the supermarket.

"You can cross your arms, you can get upset, but you're actually breaking the law.

"And you're breaking the law by filming me in a shop."

Mendes initially refuses to stop filming and can be heard saying he had not been asked to leave.

Several days prior to the incident, Mendes had followed Bridges and her partner, Steve "Commando" Willis, to dinner.

Mendes told A Current Affair he was doing nothing wrong and said the couple was happy to seek the spotlight when it suited them.

"There was absolutely nothing different on these two occasions than the other 365 days a year she is photographed, I am dumbfounded," Mendes said.

The date of the incident or the Woolworths store in which it happened are not known.

The AVO is set to be heard before a magistrate on Wednesday.
