A fugitive on the run for 11 years handed himself in to police this week.

Michael Tillman was charged with attempted murder in 2010 after an alleged attack on a friend during a night out in Surfer's Paradise, Queensland.

Tillman allegedly stabbed his friend Troy Kiss 11 times, tried to gouge out his eyes and pull out his teeth, inside an apartment at the Circle on Cavill.
