Twitter rage over Michael J Fox 'fun fact'

E! News has enraged the Twittersphere by referring to Michael J Fox's Parkinson's diagnosis as a "fun fact" in its Golden Globes coverage.

The celebrity channel flashed an information box across screens during the coverage reading: "Fun fact: Michael J Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991".

The slip-up caused a barrage of negative tweets with users branding it insensitive.

"There is no way this is a fun fact," viewer Lauren Schacher tweeted.

"Somewhere, a graphics person should be fired," wrote Paige F. MacGregor.

Known for his performances in '80s TV shows and movies, Michael J Fox currently stars on NBC's The Michael J. Fox Show.
