MH370 widow pleads for husband's stolen gifts to be returned

Thieves have robbed the Melbourne wife of an MH370 passenger, stealing her wedding rings and gifts her husband gave her prior to the tragedy.

Jennifer Chong's husband ChongLing Tan was a passenger on the missing flight, and on Monday night thieves broke into their Kew home via a sliding door and stole $91,000 worth of handbags, watches, jewellery and cash.

"It is actually devastating," she said.

"I can't believe I lost so many of his possessions that hold such sentimental value to me and my sons."

Mrs Chong left her Lower Drive North home at 8.30pm on Monday, returning 90 minutes later to discover the possessions gone.

"It means so much to have these things to hold onto because we can't hold onto the hope any more," she said.

"Please bring back my husband's memories, they are all memories that money couldn't buy back."

It comes days after Malaysian authorities declared the disappearance of flight MH370 an accident, with all passengers presumed dead.

The International Civil Aviation Organisation supported calls for commercial airlines to confirm aircraft locations every 15 minutes, and every minute during emergencies.
