Metallica perform Enter Sandman with children’s instruments

Metallica has joined forces with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots to perform a slightly different version of their hit song, Enter Sandman.

Appearing on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the heavy metal group was challenged to the ‘Classroom instruments’ segment, where artists perform their hits accompanied by xylophones, kazoos and plastic drum kits.

The 1991 hit was based on the concept of children’s nightmares, yet after this rendition, it's unlikely kids will need to sleep with one eye open.

The band was appearing to promote its new album, Hardwired… to self-destruct.
